Short Breaks in Tallinn

Tallinn is just a small town, with a charming town square and medieval architecture, but the hospitality is incredible hence its current status as a "stag and hen do" destination. Nevertheless, for a short weekend break it offers some luxury hotels, fine restaurants and great shopping for locally produced goods.

Whatever you do in Tallinn, write us a review, and we will post it on this site to pass on your recommendations to other users.

There are few places in Europe where the aura of the 14th and 15th centuries survives intact the way it does in Tallinn's Old Town, a jumble of medieval walls and turrets, needling spires and winding, cobbled streets. Nevertheless, Estonia's capital is so modern it's been dubbed 'a suburb of Helsinki'.

The area of Toompea is home to a bevy of fascinating sights including the 19th-century Russian Orthodox Alexander Nevsky Cathedral; Toomkirik, the Lutheran cathedral founded in 1233; the Estonian Art Museum; and the kookily named Kiek-in-de-Kök, a tall stout tower built around 1475. Tallinn Visitor Comments...
I really liked Tallinn. Kumu is a must next time. It was closed because of the holidays in June. The Cultural History Museum in the Old Town I enjoyed, also the parks and cycle possibilities you have there.
Good second hand books are for sale in numerous languages in the National Library of Estonia.

I decided to take my folks there last year as an anniversary present on the assumption that it would be a easy place to visit with it being small etc.

I was not dissapointed, we stayed at the Three Sisters Hotel, which is really central and everything was really close.

The Restaurants were great and the locals friendly - would recommend it to anyone.
