With a population of just over 4000, you would hardly know its there, but when you arrive you get a taste of the rivalry between the two halves of this small town.
Liechtenstein Castle is the origin of the name of the Liechtenstein family, which owned the castle from at least 1140 until the 13th century and again from 1807 onwards. Today, the castle is mainly known for the Nestroy Theatre Festival held annually during the summer months.
Philatelists and other admirers come from all over the world to see the Liechtenstein stamps. The collection includes the stamps of the Universal Postal Union, printing plates, and postal documents.
