Travel outside of summer to get Barcelona at its best

Although many see the hotter months as an essential time to visit the Spanish city breakdestination, visiting in the winter offers a whole new perspective.

Simon Calder, writing in the Independent, notes that during the winter months (November to January), the city offer some of the best chances to visit the tourist spots without the huge crowds.

In the coming winter months this year the city has some great events for those looking for something different from their break.

The Record Collector's fair is one event that any fan of nostalgia will want to get their teeth into.

Ranging from CDs to books and clothes, the "Fire del Disc de Colleccionista" at the Palau Sant Jordi sells over two million items every year.

This year it takes place from October 31st to November 2nd.
