Intelligent travellers use Eurostar
Completing a test to find the cheapest mode of transport to get to various European destinations, Nick Trend, writing for the Telegraph, noted that only two out of seven cities were cheaper to get to by plane.
The increase in speed of the Eurostar and competitive rates, have meant that train is now best value for money for the first time "for at least a decade", Mr Trend said.
"Travelling by train means you get a bigger seat, more space all round, and often a greater choice of departure time," he noted.
The Belgian city of Brussels can be reached in less than two hours by the high speed Eurostar, and Paris in two hours 15 minutes, both costing only £59.
"If, like me", Mr Trend said, "you find trains much less stressful than aeroplanes, your journey will also be altogether far more relaxing."
So if you would prefer to travel with more leg room for cheaper and get to your destination quicker, the Eurostar is for you.
