Catch a ferry for a Galway city break
Catching a ferry to Ireland and then heading to the alternative cultural capital of Galway is a great way of spending a weekend.
Pl Conghaile of the Irish Independent notes that September is a great time to visit the city, with its Arts Festival, the Galway Races and a jazz and oyster festival all taking place.
It is the kind of place that many get bowled over by, with its picture perfect Cathedral of Our Lady Assumed into Heaven "defining the cityscape", and providing a great backdrop to the many concerts that take place.
Shopping is also a great way to pass the time in Galway, with the city offering antique stores, cafes, jewellery shops and high brow clothes retailers aplenty in the many beautiful arcades if offers.
Additionally, Mr Conghaile notes that Galway is "made for walkabouts", so it is perfect for visiting on a warm autumn day and getting distracted by the many features it offers.
There is no other reason to visit Galway than to have a simply lovely time, so get on an Irish Ferry and visit this top European destination. Compare European Ferry prices and book online
