Brussels offers discounts for Christmas city break visitors

Anyone planning a city break to Brussels over Christmas will be in for a nice treat, with the Belgian tourist office offering a card that will give extra discounts at the Winter Wonderland's Christmas Market.

Although the city already offers a specialist card which gets admission to 26 museums and unrestricted use of the public transport, the new card will give benefits to any product branded with a "Winter Wonderland" logo.

Up to 50 per cent can be saved on a trip to the ice rink and a free hot drink can be gained from the winter wonders organic brasserie when purchased with another drink.

The card will cost €18 (£15) for 24 hours, going up to €30 for those on a three day break.

Anyone wishing to get their hands on one of the special cards can go to various Brussels Tourist Office representations around the city.
