Balled over by Bologna

Travel writer Julia Buckley has suggested that it is a city that is "proud of its history, its food – and its looks".

Culture vultures have a huge host of activities to choose from, with stops such as the Museum of Modern Art being a must see for any city breakers visiting.

For bars and clubs try Cassero, a gay club "filled with lookers of all persuasions" or Cantina Bentivoglio for live jazz and good food.

One thing's for sure for people returning from Bologna; your belly will be full and your appetite for Italy wetted.
