A year ago a pint of beer cost around £6.50 in Iceland’s capital - it now costs £4.00. A three-course meal would have set holidaymakers back around £57.00, now just £35.00.*

With a saving of almost 40 per cent compared with 2007 – there has never been a cheaper time to visit colourful Reykjavik.

To help travellers make the most of this exchange rate shift this Autumn, Iceland Express has launched a discounted shopping-package. For just £195, holidaymakers will receive 10-20 per cent discount vouchers to Reykjavik’s best boutiques and shops including Cintamani, Kraum, IDA bookstore, discounts at selected restaurants, reduced rates on Blue Lagoon skincare products, a three-star hotel room for two nights and a return flight with the national low-cost carrier.

This offer is available from 10 October 2008 until 15 December 2008.

The winter months are the perfect time of year to experience the magical Northern Lights, which can be seen from early November to late March and the Imagine Peace Tower, which Yoko Ono will light on 9 October 2008 in memory of John Lennon. This will remain lit until 8 December 2008.
