Discover the Neopolitan Riviera from £330pp
15 February 2008

Mouth-watering food, heart-stopping views and swanky boutiques – this is what holidays to the Neapolitan Riviera are all about. Set around the Bay of Naples, it occupies arguably the most picturesque spot in the Mediterranean. Cue sparkling blue seas. Hills cloaked in pines. And towns that look as if they're clinging to cliff-sides for dear life.

Food-wise, this place has got a lot to sing about. The Margherita pizza was born in Naples. Likewise, the Napolitana spaghetti sauce. And the Caprese salad – tomatoes, mozzarella and basil – hails from Capri. With restaurants and trattorias on every corner, one thing's for sure, you won't go hungry.

And the Neapolitan Riviera comes out all guns blazing in the shopping stakes, too. Its main resort, the chic town of Sorrento, is all about smart shops and designer names. The principle shopping drag, the Corso Italia, is all names, names, names.

Thomson have a great deal on the Grand Hotel Aminta, which has a friendly atmosphere and offers the most breathtaking views over the Bay of Naples. Public areas have been recently refurbished to an extremely high standard making the Aminta modern, contemporary and very stylish.

The perfect choice for those wanting a relaxing break in a picturesque setting.
