Has Valentine’s Day been a great disappointment?
14 February 2008

Has Valentine’s Day been a great disappointment? A dearth of romance and activity? Then head to the world’s only Phallological Museum, situated in Iceland, and cast your eye over 150 penises...

This is no cock and bull story: the museum, which contains phallic specimens belonging to almost all of Iceland’s land and sea mammals, is in Husavik in the north of the country. There are penises from seals and walrus, polar bear and whales, and the museum even has a legally-certified gift token to take a future specimen belonging to a human (to be redeemed after death of course).

Thanks to The Icelandic Phallological Museum, it is finally possible for individuals to undertake serious study into the field of phallology in an organized, scientific fashion.

Icelandair operate flights to Reykjavik from Heathrow, Glasgow and Manchester from £97pp one-way – go to Icelandair for more information. The Icelandic Phallological Museum (www.phallus.is) is open from May to September, and entry is approx £3.80pp.
